No one wanted this 1954 rambler. It’s use had become a canvas for street art and a home to squatters who needed a place to land for the night. With it being vacant for 3 years right next to a bus stop, it fell victim to broken windows, trash, and abuse. So when we bought the house, our first call for action was to…build a fence!!
We love rehabbing ramblers – they are easy for us, from changing the layout of the living areas to an open-concept design to keeping the budget low. Since there is plenty off-street parking, we decided to convert one of the garage stalls to include a new third bedroom, utility room, and expand the new dining area. This allowed us to convert the previous 3rd bedroom into a spacious master ensuite. This 1950s house that was once the eye-sore for the neighborhood, is now the eye-catching showpiece.
